Round 1

ANIC is looking for ideas that will transform the way that African media work. This means that your idea should offer significant and tangible improvements to existing tools or techniques, or should propose new ways for African journalists to gather news, tell stories, engage with audiences, or sustain media organisations.

Ideas that have the potential to be replicated or that could scale continentally will have an advantage.

reblog reblog

1. What do you propose to do? [20 words]

I wan to set up a Multimedia News structure that combines a new approach of gathering, producing and broadcasting, webcasting  news

Is anyone doing something like this now and how is your project different? [30 words]

To the best of my knowledge, in Algeria, there is  still fragmented and old fashioned approach of making news.

3. Describe the real world challenge that you are trying to solve for African media [50 words]

With the advent of MultiMedia, Africans journalists have to upgrade and update  their way of producing news in order to meet public and audience’s needs and expectations with multifaceted forms and platforms. Everyone for the public is offered a chance to grasp and understand the message ( written, imaged or recordered).

4. How and why will your solution work? [100 words]

It is a challenge but we have to perserve to convince that a multimediated message is the best way to achieve your target. By combining different supports, different formats and differet genres, you are more likely offerign further  opportunities to public to have new, easy, free and rapid access to news.

This project can begin in Algeria (North of Africa) but it can go through partnership scheme with potential partners in main regions Southern regiopn  (South Africa) East (Kenya) West (Nigeria). A network of journalists will be set up to encourage a new african experience

5. Who is working on it? [100 words]

Local journalists, infographists, designers, computing staff (web developpers, security, system etc…)

6. What part of the project have you already built? [100 words]

Just the idea is here, and its promotion and implementation will depend on possibilities of funding.

How would you sustain the project after the funding expires? [50 words]

Well, it is expected that we will sell and provide news and other services (training, consulting, research etc…) for those interested. Plus opportunities for advertising and sponsorship.
