ANIC is looking for ideas that will transform the way that African media work. This means that your idea should offer significant and tangible improvements to existing tools or techniques, or should propose new ways for African journalists to gather news, tell stories, engage with audiences, or sustain media organisations.
Ideas that have the potential to be replicated or that could scale continentally will have an advantage.
An cross platform mobile application for almost every camera phone that enables users to have documentary channels.
Unlike typical video sharing sites, ADAFI will focus on allowing mobile users to create their own news channels from anywhere they find themselves.
This platform gives everybody a voice to express themselves and to tell the story of the issues to the world. This will also give African media a platform to engage consumers, simplify opinion polling and citizen journalism.
Adafi will leverage on the growth of mobile usage in Ghana/Africa and make anybody a news maker. Since its dedicated to mobile and can be used on any phone with a camera, users around the continent will find it crucial in making their views heard. Users can post videos of any format (3gp, wmv, mp4, etc), they can then email it through a personal posting address or upload through their app, the video will then be passed through a filter to make it suitable for viewing.
